The Smoler Proteomics Center: Headed by Prof. Arie Admon from the Department of Biology and managed by Dr. Tamar Ziv, the Center is the Israeli national infrastructure hub for proteome analysis. The staff includes seven people with diverse background and skills (biology, chemistry, biotechnology engineering and mass spectrometry). Activities in the Center range from identifying and quantifying proteins to large-scale comparisons of proteins and their posttranslational modifications in healthy and diseased states. Researchers from the nation’s universities, research institutes, hospitals, and biotechnology companies have direct access to the Center’s technology and expertise.

What can we do for you?

Comprehensive analysis- identify 800-3000 proteins from one cell extracts.

Quantitative proteomics- defining the relative levels of the proteins in different cell types or the shifts in these levels as a response to treatment.

Analysis of protein complexes- characterization of the interaction between the different cellular proteins and determine their sub-cellular locations.

Modifications- determining the patterns of posttranslational modifications (phosphorylation, ubiquitination, acetylation, etc.) of the different proteins.

Variations- determining the differences between similar proteins.

And many more…
